Automatic Case Erector

A case-forming system that erects flat-packed cartons into ready-to-fill cases at line speed, engineered as the first automated step of your packing line.

Customer Problem

Manual case erection is labour-intensive and slows the start of the packing line, creating a bottleneck before product even reaches the case packer.

Business Impact

A slow case-forming step limits how fast the rest of the line can run, regardless of downstream automation.

Machine Operation

Flat cartons are fed from a magazine, formed into shape, bottom-sealed and discharged ready for filling.

Product-Handling Method

Forming heads and bottom-seal method are matched to your carton material and size.

Key Benefits

Removes manual case-forming bottleneck

Consistent case squareness

Reduced manpower dependency

Matches downstream line speed

Machine Variants

Manually erecting cases at high-speed end-of-line is a hectic task. MAS SYSTECH has developed three case erector modules to match different line requirements.

CEM-111
01

CEM-111

Case erector module engineered for standard carton sizes and line speeds.

CEM-114
02

CEM-114

Case erector module configured for extended carton range and throughput needs.

CEM-115
03

CEM-115

Case erector module for higher-speed lines requiring faster case formation.

Customisation Options

Carton size range, magazine capacity and discharge orientation are set from the blanks you actually run, so the machine is built around your board specification rather than a nominal one. Footprint and discharge height are designed to meet your downstream packer where it sits.
Where blank quality or corrugation grade varies, the forming and flap-folding section is specified accordingly. Controls, HMI layout and safety architecture follow your plant's conventions.

02

Safety Features

Guarding encloses the magazine, forming and flap-folding zones, with interlocked access so blank replenishment and clearing are done with the machine at a safe stop. Emergency stops are coordinated with the downstream packer so a stop at either machine halts the other.

03

Changeover Information

Carton sizes within the supplied range are stored as recipes, with guided magazine and guide adjustments for the new blank — no tooling change or engineering intervention. Time varies with how far apart the two cartons are; frequent switches can be clustered at design stage so the most common ones are quickest.

FAQs

What carton sizes can this handle?

The Automatic Case Erector can be engineered to handle different carton sizes based on your specific packaging requirements. The carton size range is configured according to your line, carton material and production needs.

Can this feed directly into our existing case packer?

Yes. The Automatic Case Erector can be integrated directly with your existing case packer, with the downstream interface engineered to suit your current packaging line for smooth, connected operation.

How long does a changeover take?

Changeover time depends on the carton size and machine configuration. The Automatic Case Erector supports recipe-based changeover for new carton sizes, helping simplify the transition between different carton formats. The exact changeover time can be determined based on your specific line requirements.
